The best thing about weddings is, that everyone can do it the way they want to. So have Anika and Basti. They chose to get married in Tirol in a little hut even though they are from Germany. Mountaineering is very close to their heart, so they invited only their closest friends and family to join their celebration.
The two booked me way in advance already, and when I facetimed with them to get to know them, I knew immediately that I wanted to be their photographer.
They had a wonderful setup with lovely decoration and all their friends stayed at the hut the night before their wedding. So when I came to the venue in the morning I saw some faces at the brunch that didn’t get too much sleep, which is always a good sign. The getting ready was super sweet and comfy and the couple decided to have a first-sight before the celebration started. And it is one of my favorite things to shoot. The couple has time to look at each other and enjoy some moments of silence and intimacy before the wedding gets started. We chose a meadow right outside the hut.
The ceremony was short and sweet, and with a bit of rain, which didn’t matter to much. Before dinner started, I could convince the two to do a sundown shoot on top of the mountain. Without agenda, without staging, Basti took off his jaket, roled up the sleeves (to show of his amazing tattoos) and Annika was super chilled aswell. We didn’t care about messy hair, perfect bouquet or the right posture. Just some fun in the wind at sundown. And I love the photos that came out.
